Class Details
Learn to cook a true Mexican street taco from scratch and all its parts. In the first half-hour, we will have a small meet and greet and our Mexican taco recipe overview. In the next hour, we will guide you in preparing a traditional red salsa, taco filling, and flour tortillas. Our experience includes practical recipes that you can easily follow at home and cook for your family and friends.

Ingredients (Yields: 8 tacos approx. size 6” width)

Alambre (taco filling)​

1-pound of beef (chopped in thin slices, small cuts) or ground beef [Alternative: chopped mushrooms]

2 slices of raw chopped bacon (optional)

3/4 cup chopped white onion
-
1 cup bell pepper diced in cubes (optional)

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
-
salt and pepper to taste

1 avocado in slices (optional)

Garnish​

1/2 cup chopped cilantro leaves

1/2 cup white onion diced

4 green limes, halved, no seeds

Red Salsa​ (Do not chop)

1 red roma tomato as a whole

1 garlic clove peeled

2 serrano peppers or 1 jalapeno pepper or 2 dry
chiles [Alternative: chili powder or chili flakes] -
Salt to taste

Flour Tortillas​

1 cup general all-purpose flour *

1 + 1/2 tablespoon vegetable oil [Alternative: pork
lard or butter – same quantity, room temp] -
1/3 cup warm water = 80 ml

1 teaspoon salt

extra: 1/4 cup flour to dust your counter

*About Flour: We will use 100% all-purpose flour. Any other
variation such as: Gluten-free, Unbleached, Oatmeal,
Almond or Coconut Flour do not behave the same.
